Roundhouse Kick
In this roundhouse kick you can observe that Rajassk’s body is turned a full 90 degrees. His hip is fully twisted over and his standing leg is raised on the ball of the foot and also turned so that it is pointed to the right in the direction of his kick. Power comes from the combination of these techniques. Unlike other striking arts, the Muay Thai roundhouse kick utilizes the full body.
- Your standing leg should be raised on the ball of the foot. (Actually it is a good idea to always be on the balls of your feet when fighting.)
- When you kick you must fully turn you standing leg and turn over your hip in the direction of you kick.
- You kick should be fully horizontal across the body of your opponent.
- The contact area of your kick should be shin.
- For extra force at end of you kick ther should be a head twist in the direction of your kick. You can also add a further twist to the kicking leg once it makes contact.
