Leg Trap and Sweep #2

This is another version of what might happen if your opponent catches your leg. Here, Rajasak (red shorts) catches Moo’s roundhouse kick.. Then using the same-side leg, he sweeps Noo’s outside leg out from under him. Normally, if the technique is carried through, Moo will fall down on his backside. Pretty humiliating. I saw Rajasak execute this technique is a bout at Lumpini stadium twice in one fight.

In order to do this correctly, you leg sweep must be sift and powerful and your opponent should be off balance.

Another lesson here is if your roundhouse is not that fast, it is better to stick to low kicks so that your opponent cannot grab your leg. In fact, in a street fight, if your leg is ever grabbed like this by as skilled opponent, you are finished.
